Sean Carrie is President of the European Rhinological Society and Past President of the British Rhinological Society. He has had a specialist practice since 1999 and his particular interests are endonasal pituitary surgery, ambulatory surgery and surgical education. He has leadership roles in undergraduate and postgraduate education. He is Chairman of both the Newcastle Sinus Surgery and Pituitary courses.
He has collaborative research interests in sinonasal inflammation. He is Chief Investigator of the NIHR funded ‘NAIROS’ multicentre RCT of septoplasty.
He is co-editor of the Rhinology section of the 8th Edn of Scott- Brown’s Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
